God is GREAT. God is great all the time. Business is a spiritual game. Your business will not grow unless you grow as a person. Who better to be on your side than God in a spiritual game? The creator of it all, infinite, all knowing with endless power? (aka YOU)
To illustrate my point, here is a little story:
You're a student in a Stanford entrepreneurship class. Your professor splits the class into teams and gives each team five dollars, challenging them to make as much money as possible in two hours. Afterward, they must present their results in a three-minute presentation.
Many teams might take a typical approach—starting a small business like a lemonade stand or making a risky bet. But is that really the best way?
Albert Einstein once said:
"My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind."
When we rely only on our own limited thinking, our results are small. But when we look beyond ourselves—when we trust in something greater—we open the door to unexpected opportunities.
One team chose to ignore the five-dollar constraint entirely. Instead, they focused on their most valuable asset: time. They realized that companies were eager to recruit Stanford students and saw an opportunity.
A student recalled a company that had been advertising for student hires. The team called, offering the company a three-minute slot to present their job opportunities to the class—for $1,000.
At first, they hit a roadblock. The receptionist wouldn’t connect them to the decision-maker. But one student asked for the owner’s last name, recognized it, and realized he might know the owner's son. He reached out, and it turned out to be a personal connection. The son vouched for them, helping secure a direct conversation with his father.
With that credibility, they pitched their idea: a direct, captive audience of Stanford students in exchange for the company’s investment. The father agreed, and the team turned five dollars into $1,000—without ever spending their original money.
As Zig Ziglar once said:
"You can have everything in life you want if you will just help other people get what they want."
This team didn’t just think outside the box—they removed the box entirely. They focused on what they could do instead of what they had—and that mindset made all the difference.
They refused to accept the circumstances they were given ($5 bill), and went for GREATNESS. As they showed the DESIRE to achieve something much greater, having FAITH/AUTO SUGGESTION that there even was something greater that could be achieved, they've used their IMAGINATION to find and apply SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, they were PERSISTENT when faced with temporary defeat, they ORGANIZED themselves with their MASTER MIND and stuck to their DECISION to figure out a way to see their goals through, and through GRACE/SUBCONSCIOUS they found a way - much easier than expected - in achieving a GREAT goal. (Think and Grow Rich Recipe by Napoleon Hill)
Just because a $5 bill is sitting in front of you doesn’t mean it’s definite starting point. We are INFINITE SPIRITUAL BEINGS. We are more than what the physical matter shows. When we’re blinded by circumstances, we stop seeing other possibilities in the peripheries. It’s only when you zoom out and determine the broader opportunities that you can walk away from that flawed thought of being limited to your current circumstance.
In this job you will hear something along the lines of having a WHY. A why is much powerful than anything else imaginable. There are no obstacles that can stop a WHY. It's ok to identify circumstances/problems/challenges, but only give your power and energy to solutions. When you think big, trust God, you will discover other paths, opportunities lurking in plain sight.
God is great, God is great all the time. Believe it. You can.
