This license is crucial and mandatory in order for you to sell deals in California. Not hard to do, but it demands some time, and you staying on top of it. Below you will see how the process goes. Get started by going to the application page by clicking in the button below.

2015-2017
Easy-Fill Form
Scroll down to the bottom of the page till you see an image/button that says 'Go toEasy-Fill Form'. As you scrolling down, read the information and requirements, if it pertains to you, take note to fill it out correctly and not get a kickback delaying the process.
2011-2014
Fingerprinting
Once they have accepted your application and mark it as 'posted', it's time to get fingerprints. Go to a police station, or any authorized source they provide to get it done. Make sure to send it in PROMPTLY. CSLB will send you the instructions once your application has been accepted.
2007-2010
$200 Non-Refundable Application Fee
Enclose a check payable to "Registrar of Contractors" with your application. No money, no honey baaaaybay. Notice it's nonrefundable. They won't care about your sad story. Neither will we lol. Get it done.

Enter your full legal name, date of birth, driver's license. NO SPACES SHOULD BE LEFT BLANK. As you fill it out, double check it.

The address you enter here will reflect on the CSLB HIS Lookup page when someone looks your badge up. Keep that in mind. The mailing address can be different than the public one, or select "Same as Residence". Enter your email and phone number.

1. Are you now or have you ever been registered as a home improvement salesperson with CSLB? If you check “Yes” below, you must provide the HIS registration number.
2. Have you or any immediate family member of the applicant ever received a citation from CSLB or had a contractor license or other professional or vocational license or registration denied, suspended, revoked, or otherwise disciplined by this state or elsewhere (i.e., other U.S. state, U.S. territory, agency of the federal government, or other country)?
3. To the best of your knowledge, have you failed to resolve any outstanding final liabilities, which include taxes, additions to tax, penalties, interest, and any fees that may be assessed by CSLB, the Department of Industrial Relations, the Employment Development Department, the Franchise Tax Board, or the State Board of Equalization (BOE)?
4. Are you serving in, or have you previously served in, the United States Armed Forces?
5. The CSLB shall expedite the licensure process and waive the licensure fees charged by the board for an applicant who is the spouse of an active-duty member of the Armed Forces stationed in California who meets both of the following requirements:

Completion Instructions
You're not through the woods yet!!! On this page it will give you an option to open the PDF file containing the data you've entered in your application to print it. It also gives you the option to email it to yourself so it's ready to go when you are able to print it. Don't forget to email, then make sure you've received it. Check spam also if you don't see it, or open/view PDF and save on your computer/files.
*Keep an eye on your mail once you send this in. That's how they will communicate with you. If something else is requested, make sure to promptly submit what they have asked so you don't lose your $200 & have to start all over again.
